A look on actual customer service in Indian Overseas Bank!!!
I received an email from my Alumni which showed the real attitude of Banks in India.
India may survived the global downturn in Banking Sector, it may be because of the government..I am posting this blog to show other side of Indian Banking Services.
Its an excellent post by my fellow citizen who had entered his plights in the blogosphere through his blog.

How Finance Departments Changed? or asked to change?
Not many eyes will be on finance departments unless it is month end to draw the cheque for the whole month work. It may be the case before a year ago! but the situation has changed now! The harvards and stanfords are blamed for recession…for creating a bubble…the theories of great business schools are being adviced to revise…aspiring MBAs are thinking to reconsider their choice…
The question now arise…what does the finance experts asked to do? cost cutting? by what mean? why did these organisations offered full control to CFOs before? did the markets and illusionary calculations shed their lids? What are CFOs doing now? do CEOs have real power and authority to make decisions?
There are bankruptcy filing…falsifying profits etc..stc..Arcelor Mittal have booked their first loss in this quarter….McKinsey poll states that CFOs are given wider responsibilities to cut costs and our immediate question will be whether it is short term or long term?

Meera Sanyal…From Banking to Politics…
What made the latest power woman to turn her attention towards Politics…Is India ready to intake INSEAD graduate as a member of Parliment…Its a question worth million dollar…but will she manage to post a win against Deora? It will be a big question mark even now!
The last few months, Indians have witnessed few top women executives jumping from their postions to a higher and better positions. But Meera gone a step further in improving the lives of Poor. She may have other notions behind her candidacy but the ultimate goal of her is definitely worth a praise.
I guess every literate of Mumbai support her….Only thing that worries me is that she is contesting against a capable and experienced candidate Mr.Deora.
Let me wish her for a better luck….

A Tribute to Prof. Stephen Hawking
Quantum Cosmology, Cosmic Inflation, Density Matrix, Baby Universes, de Sitter Space, Quantum Entanglement, Arrow of Time, String Theory, Brans-Dicke and Hoyle-Narlikar Theories of Gravitation, wormholes….etc etc..
These are some of the investigations made by the physicist of this century Prof. Stephen Hawking.
I dedicate this blog as a tribute to him..who is hospitalized now…May our wishes and prayers makes him recover with good health very soon.
I remember one of the professor from Madras University, Dr. Manikavasagam, saying that understanding his notations will cost some years for traditional newtonic physicists. I admire Dr.Manikavasagam as well as Prof. Stephen Hawking.
His very famous contribution to the world “Stephen Hawking – A Brief History of Time” is here…Download it if you need.

Oracle buys Sun…A layman’s blogpost on the deal!
Oracle had announced that it had entered into an agreement to acquire Sun. Sun being an abbreviation of Stanford University Network, the company which funded the initial setup of the current internet conglomerate Google, has made me think a lot about acquisition.
What will happen to MySQL?
What will happen to OpenOffice?
What will happen to employee freedom?
Will Open Source, once said to rule the world, have future? we have to revitalise our thoughts on it!
Where is Novell now? Where is Sun now?
The profit margins when made lesser, the companies wont stand in long run. But the higher rated one may face difficulties for short terms but not for long terms. but those firms should have a firm position to face a long run economically.
My idea may be different ar weird…or my insight on these mergers may sound very indifferent…but my ultimate idea is what made these companies fail? the only good thing is we will be able to get some sound managers in due time! who really know what recession and its impacts makes to an organisation!
The very good thing about the deal is the customers will be getting much sophisticated services on some mission critical computing systems and enterprise softwares.
From investors point of view, theres a growing competer for IBM. IBM may be leading the service industry but it will be facing a strong competition from HP-EDS, Oracle-Sun because it haven’t done any such big deals so far!!!
But who knows…Oracle may acquire Apple in future…If Larry’s friend Steve agrees…eventhough theres no logic behind my words…just imagine how it will be when ORACLE-APPLE merge??? you know what? Larry and Steve are good friends…Wikipedia says!
Microsoft and IBM may have many zeroes in their financial statements..but why are they hesitating to offer few more cents per share?
I have to do MBA to analyze all these cases…now i just can only blog my views when Moon and Stars will follow the SUN?
I have bookmarked Jonathans blog a couple of years ago…but didn’t followed it for few months now…
I still remember the case Sun and NetApps fought for…
